Common questions
How accurate is the calculator?
It's a guide to the right ballpark, not a quote. The biggest unknown is volume: homes of the same size hold very different amounts. Adding a garage or shed, or listing items one by one, makes the estimate closer.
Why is a dedicated truck price only shown for some routes?
We only show prices we can source. Dedicated truck rates are published for Sydney to Brisbane; on other routes, ask each removalist to quote both options.
What isn't included?
Packing, boxes, insurance, storage and special items like pianos or pool tables are usually priced on top. Small loads often have a minimum charge.
My route isn't listed. Can I still get quotes?
Yes. Put your suburbs in the quote form and we'll match you with removalists that run that route.
Does it cost anything?
No. The calculator and the quotes are free, and you're under no obligation to book. Removalists may pay us for receiving requests; it doesn't change the price they quote you.
Sources and method. Per-m³ rates are the published 2026 backloading rates in each route guide: Transcorp Removals & Storage for Sydney to Brisbane (including dedicated truck rates), and Muval's route data for the other routes. Typical home volumes are from removalists' guides by Ready Movers and Upmove. Item and garage volumes are from Muval's cubic metre guide and moving inventory guide. Estimates are volume multiplied by the rate range, rounded to the nearest $50, and exclude packing, insurance and other extras. Checked October 2026.
